Electric Classic Car Battery Maintenance

Jan 13, 2024

1. Always check whether the poles and terminals are connected reliably. To prevent the terminals from oxidizing, apply a protective agent such as Vaseline.
2. The air holes on the battery cover should be clear. The battery will produce a large number of bubbles when charging. If the vent hole is blocked and the gas cannot escape, when the pressure increases to a certain level, the battery case will burst.
3. Do not use direct ignition (short circuit test) method to check the battery's power. This will cause damage to the battery.
4. Check the electrolyte level inside the battery. If the electrolyte is found to be too low, add distilled water or special lead-acid battery replenishing fluid. Do not use purified drinking water instead.
5. When using an electric vehicle, step on the accelerator pedal lightly, otherwise the instantaneous large current discharge will damage the battery.
6. After using the electric vehicle for a short distance, it is recommended that you fully charge the battery in time to keep the battery in a saturated state and maintain the service life of the battery.
